Marrying Koreans is the simplest way for foreigners to obtain Korean nationality.
If you are married to a Korean and have lived in Korea for more than two or three years, you can easily obtain Korean nationality. Other than marriage, it is difficult for foreigners to obtain nationality.
The following qualifications are outlined in the laws for foreigners seeking Korean nationality.
1. A foreigner must enter South Korea legally and register for alien registration for a period of at least five years (Article 5. (1) of the Nationality Act).
2. You must be at least 19 years old.
3. Correct behaviour is required (Article 5. (3) of the Nationality Act).
If you have a criminal record, you may find it difficult to obtain Korean citizenship.
4. Ability to sustain livelihoods through assets or skills (livelihood), etc. (Article 5. (4) of the Nationality Act)
5. To have a basic knowledge as a citizen of the Republic of Korea, such as understanding Korean language ability and customs of the Republic of Korea (Article 5. (5) of the Nationality Act)
I hope this will help you,
Best of Luck :)
