Admission process for MSc Chemistry is dependent upon the norm of the university, it can be based on the merit of the qualifying examination, or it can be done through entrance tests such as IIT JAM for admission into various IITs, there is CUCET which is for admission of central universities, BHU/DU/Allahabad University/University of Hyderabad/JNU/GGSIPU to name a few have their own entrance test so you may consider appearing for these tests if you're interested and you fulfill the eligibility criteria which you can check out by visiting the official website of the concerned university, in general candidate who have passed BSc Degree having studied chemistry as one of the subject from a recognized board with 50% aggregate or above are eligible to apply for the same,

MSc Chemistry deals with physical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry and analytical Chemistry. MSc Chemistry is a 2 year career oriented postgraduate course.The basic MSc Chemistry eligibility criteria is a graduate degree in Chemistry or an allied discipline from a recognized college with at least 50% or more marks.

The admission process is varied as various institutes have their very own criteria and processes of admission. However, admissions to the course is generally based on the Common Entrance Test (CET) mechanism.

Popular universities conducting their own entrance for MSc Chemistry admission are Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University  , Osmania university, Banaras Hindu University , etc

This entire process of admission  is followed by a round of counselling and personal interview.

Given below is a brief description regarding the MSc Chemistry admission

  • In case of entrance exams like IPU CET , OUCET, BITSAT, etc, candidates must check the eligibility and apply for required exams.
  • Students are required to crack the respective exam of a college/university in order to get admission in the course.
  • After successfully appearing for the test, the college or university announces the result and releases a merit list of shortlisted candidates.
  • Shortlisted students then need to go through the college wise admission process.
