To become an IAS officer there is no single course that you have to do. You need to have completed you graduation. So Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a reputed university. After this you need to qualify the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam. The exam itself is structured into three parts – the Preliminary (Civil Services Aptitude Test – CSAT), Main Exam, and finally the Interview.
now besides the degree there are also other eligibility criteria. If you belong to the General/UR then you have a maximum of 6 attempts. If you have reservation this changes, you get more chances. The age limit must be between 21 to 32 years of age, age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved category.
