Despite being established for distance education, NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) provides a formal and regular secondary and Senior Secondary program equivalent to CBSE. It works under Ministry of HRD. So, you can apply for admission or entrance exams as it’s a government recognised board. However, always check the eligibility criteria of a college/institute before applying. Your marks in 12th will be considered.
