VIT always conducted Offline counselling. But this is the first time that VIT had to cancel its entrance examination and conduct admissions based on Board exams and JEE Mains. And it has also been announced that weightage will be given to JEE Mains score. While the marking and weightage scheme has not been announced yet, this answer is being written with general information. Once VIT releases any official information regarding the weightage and marking scheme, we would be able to answer your question with more relevant information. There is nothing to explain when an Educational Institution takes a call because it is well within its jurisdiction to take a call. And at this point in time, VIT has not announced its Counselling dates for the Academic year 2020. It might probably happen after September session of JEE Mains. Until then we may have to wait to hear from VIT as how they want to proceed instead of speculating. We have to wait to hear for any official notification regarding this.
