As long as you fulfill the age requirement, educational qualification requirement and criteria for marital status you will be eligible to appear for AFCAT and get selected for AFSB if you have scored minimum cut off marks. If you have passed 3 years bachelor's degree or 4 year B.Tech with minimum 60% aggregate marks and studied Mathematics and Physics in 10+2 level with minimum 50% aggregate marks. The age criteria for AFCAT 1 2022 is as follows

The age limit to be eligible for Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry 20 to 24 years as on

• 01 January 2023. The candidate must born between 02 January 1999 to 01 January 2003. U pper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relax able upto 26 years . The candidate must be born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2003.
• For G round Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch the age limit is 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2023. The candidate must be born between 02 January 1997 to 01 January 2003

Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/ Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible. A candidate who marries after the date of his/her application though will not be eligible for training even if the candidate cleared AFSB and Medical Examination. A candidate who marries during the period of training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the Government. Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply but during training period they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live out with family.

If you fulfill the requirements you will be eligible even if you have gap in your education as there is no bar on gap in education.

If you meet the eligibility criteria to attempt AFCAT exam then you won't be facing must of problems with the gap in education to get through AFSB.
Age limit: 20 years to 26 years (Ground Duty - Non Technical). For Flying branch - 20 to 24 years.
Nationality: Indian citizen
Marital status: Candidates below 25 must be unmarried and widows/ widowers/ divorcees under 25 are not eligible.
Education Qualification: Candidates must have minimum 60 percentage in 10+2 or Intermediate in Physics and Mathematics from a recognised Board and minimum 60 percentage in Bachelor's degree or Post Graduation or Integrated degree in relevant subjects from a recognised Institute are eligible or must have cleared section A & section B exam of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India in a relevant discipline as per the criteria are eligible.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, then you won't be facing any problem to get through AFSB.
