I scored 32.7 percentile in XAT. I have a really good academic background, my graduation CGPA is also 9.5 out of 10. Should i apply for XIME or is there any chance that I'll get a call for GD/PI?

Based on your high academic background (a CGPA of 9.5), you have a strong profile overall. Regarding your XAT score of 32.7 percentile, it's important to keep in mind that different institutes have varying cutoff criteria and selection processes.

XIME typically considers the following criteria for admissions:

  • XAT/ CAT/ GMAT score
  • Academic performance
  • Work experience

Your XAT percentile is on the lower side, getting a direct call for GD/PI from XIME may be unlikely, as they generally prefer candidates with higher percentiles (around 50 or above). However, the fact that you have an excellent academic record can make you a standout candidate in the holistic evaluation process.

Hello Nandini,

With a 32.7 percentile in XAT, it is unlikely that you will directly get a call for GD/PI from top-tier B-schools like XIME, as their cutoffs tend to be higher. However, your strong academic background and impressive CGPA (9.5 out of 10) can still make you a competitive candidate for some institutes that value overall profile and past performance.

Here are some options to consider:

  1. Check XIME's Cutoff : Verify the previous year’s cutoff and compare it with your percentile to assess your chances. Some institutes have different criteria and may consider factors like academic excellence and work experience.

  2. Other B-Schools : Consider applying to other B-schools that accept XAT scores but have a lower cutoff. Your strong academic background can help in this case.

  3. Apply for Other Exams : If you're open to exploring other options, you could also consider applying to colleges that accept scores from CAT, MAT, or CMAT, which may have a more flexible admission process.

In summary, while getting a GD/PI call from XIME might be challenging with a 32.7 percentile, it's still worth exploring other opportunities where your academic performance could be a strong point for selection.

Hello,

32.7 percentile score in XAT is quite low for institutes like XIME Bangalore or other campuses. The chances of getting a call for GD/PI are slim. These institutes expect a higher percentile, around 70 and above.

But there is a good point. Our academic score. You secured a great CGPA, which is 9.5/10, which is quite impressive and would add a great weightage to your resume. So you can do one thing: you give other entrance exams like MAT, CAT, MCAT, and ATMA. XIME also considers the score of this exam as well. So prepare well for these exams and score a higher percentile. This would ensure your chance of getting into XIME is higher. You can also consider applying to other institutes which have a lower XAT score requirement.
