I scored 72% in Diploma. 60% in B.tech and just qualified Gate 2019 in SC category.Is there any chance to get IIT

Hii,

To get a seat in IIT through GATE qualifying mark is not possible.Irrespective of the academic marks, As you are from SC category you need to get minimum 60-70 marks to get the Top IIT's.

As you are getting qualifying marks your chances of getting NIT's is also low but you will get  private colleges which takes you through GATE score.

If you are serious about the Masters degree,Give another attempt for GATE exam and score good marks.

So what is it mean that some colleges show their cut-off of some  courses is only 280-290

May be,some colleges show their cut off like that .But to get into an good IIT the qualifying mark is not sufficient.you need to get more.Anyways,As you are from SC category hope you may get a good college.
