I scored 7.4 cgpa in class 10 but 83 percent in class 12 can I get older iims??
Hello Pratims
IIMs look at individuals who can perform under stress and those who perform consistently.
Class 10 and Class 12 are generally stressful because of the competition - thus if you do well in those, it implies that you can work under stress.
Also, if you are able to work hard and work under pressure, you will be a all the more better candidate.
If you get not-so-good marks in Class 10 or Class 12, you are not at all screwed for life. There are several successful people who dropped out of school.
Being one of the best B-schools in the country, IIM A has a very strict and and unique screening process. Every year, the management at IIM A or Bcomes up with a detailed shortlisting criteria for selecting students who will make it to the best B-school in the country.
I think you are talking about doing PGDBM, so friend according to me the minimum criteria is 75% in class 10th and 12th +75% or equivalent CGPA in graduation + good communication skill +any extra curricular activity+ little knowledge of current trending topics in news it is required during GD round+ CAT EXAM PERCENTILE 98 above for IIM A,B,C. This is all when you don't have any job experience, and it is minimum criteria.
Generally IIM Ahmedabad is more selecting those candidates which are having 2-3 years job experience.
One of my friend during his final year of graduation got 99 percentile and he is also having 95% in 10th, 87% in 12th, 9 CGPA in graduation and he also played chess at national level ,but inspite of that he got rejected from A,B,C, due to poor GD he performed. Now he is working at Bharat Electronics limited from past two years and this year he got 98 percentile, but again can't made his way for A,B,C but he got selected in IIM Lucknow.
But if you don't have good percentage in 10th, 12th don't get disappointed, there are also many of good business schools which give package near about IIM's like FMS, XLRI, SP JAIN, IMT, etc. And another option is that you get atleast 3-4 years of job experience and after that try for IIM .
I hope it will help you
Good luck...
Dear Aspirant,
You will find it hard to get into older IIMs as one of either 12th or 10th above 90 is what considered best. Since you have not shared your graduation details, I am only saying this on the basis of your 10/12th marks.
If you have a graduation score of above 80% non-engineer, then there is a good chance you will get a call from Bangalore and Calcutta if you score above 99.
Hope this helps.
All the best & thank You.
