Hello,

In respect to your idea of dropping a year let me tell you that dropping idea is considered good enough only if you are willing to make it up to the mark .you should be confident enough that you get good marks and land up in a reputed college.

You should first sit and analyse will you be able to devote your full 1year in JEE with total focus or not.

If you think you can do it go for it.

But if you think that what in case you are not able to do it then you should drop the idea of dropping .

Because it will cost you a year. There is no guarantee taht you may score exceptionally well hence it is better to take admissions offered.Remember time is money and studying at home is an option preferred by very few ,another year of coaching will cost.

This money can be used for your college fees.

So chose your decision wisely.

According to CAREERS360 "it has analysed JEE Main marks of 7,01,297 freshers, 1,67,352 (1year droppers) and 25882(2year droppers) from the past years and figured out the outcome. The data trend reveals that 47%general category candidates out of the total 7,01,297 freshers dropped the idea of admission for better admission opportunities next year. However, even after taking a year's drop, nothing significant changed"

So ,sit back and talk to your parents regarding this and come to a final conclusion.

Good luck for your career ahead.

Hello Himanshu!

First of all, in order to decide what career you want to pursue, you have to know what are your interests. And then, build your career based on what interests you the most.

Now, looking at the percentage you have got in Boards, it will be difficult for you to secure a seat in a good college for graduation in general courses as college cut-offs go very high. But that doesn't mean you won't get a seat at all. You can get a seat but not in the premiere colleges. Also, you may not have your name up in the first list straightaway. You will have to wait for the 2nd or 3rd (or more) cut-off lists to comw out. Following this, whichever college you get, premiere or mediocre, what will only matter is how hard you study and how good you score. This will help you to secure a good college for your Masters.

On tbe other hand, if you decide to take one year drop and prepare for the JEE Mains, then prepare yourself to work very hard. Because the more marks you score, the better is your rank, and the better is your college. Also, JEE Mains is a national level entrance exam, so it's level of difficulty  is quite high. You have to put in a lot of hard work.

So sit down with your parents, take suggestions from your teachers and seniors and decide which career is good for you.

Hello himanshu,

If you are a average student also, then i Erik suggest you to prepare for jee mains instead of doing graduation.

Because you got a single very good chance, you should use it, if you will get selected in any of the nits, it will  be far better than doing graduation.

Best of luck...!!!
