In order to initiate preparation for any exam, candidates are required to be acquainted with the syllabus, you must be aware of the fact that clat exam pattern has gone through change this year and number of questions have been reduced to 150 from 200, the syllabus now consists of comprehension-based questions from Quantitative Techniques, English, Current Affairs, Deductive Reasoning and Logical Reasoning sections for which below I've provided the detailed syllabus for the same;

LOGICAL REASONING which includes logical and analytical reasoning skills .
In order to cover all the aforementioned sections, you have to make a timetable and accordingly assign number of hours to each subjects, managing time is a crucial part of preparation process.
Choosing the correct study materials are essential for performing well and qualifying the exam, you can go through following books for each section-
For General Knowledge and Current Affairs, you can go through magazines such as Pratiyogita Darpan , also there are many websites which provides monthly compilations which you can go through,the best way to deal with this section is reading newspaper on a daily basis,the best choice is The Hindu, you can also go through The Indian Express.For static GK part,you can use Lucent's GK. Also,you can search in Internet there are many sites which have compiled this in an organized manner pertaining to different subjects.
For Aptitude, you can use Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning by A P Bhardwaj or Legal Awareness and Legal Reasoning by Pearson.
For Logical Reasoning, you can use any reasoning book such as Analytical Reasoning by M K Pandey or even Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning by RS Agarwal is equally good option.first get your concepts clear and practice in a continuous manner.
For Elementary Mathematics with Numerical Ability, you can use Quantitative Aptitude by RS Aggarwal , you can also use NCERTs book to build the basic concepts.
For Language Comprehension, you will be provided passages of about 450 words based on the contemporary, non-fiction writing historically significant fiction. Candidates will be tested regarding their comprehension ability, how to draw out inferences and conclusions, compare and contrast different viewpoints, the meanings of the words and phrases in the given in the passages, grammatical errors, fill in the blanks etc. Hence, you can see that vocabulary,grammar and reading speed matter a lot here, if you have Norman Lewis 'Word Power Made Easy', you should go through this, it's an amazing book for vocabulary building, coming to grammar part you can build the basics from Wren and Martin book, this is the best option regarding grammar, and this knowledge will come handy while doing any error correction, fill in the blanks options etc. For reading speed, it's best you read the editorial part of The Hindu or The Indian Express, the more you read, the more better your speed will become, you can also enhance your vocabulary, these articles are written by prolific writer, this is a must step and until the exam, continue to do so, depending on the time you have you can go through previous editorial articles as well,when it comes to reading articles, it's more dependent on how well your speed and understanding of language is, if it's fairly good, you can go through one or two articles, if not consider reading more articles for instance you can choose to read both The Hindu as well as The Indian Express, but this also depends on your schedule, if you have free time the more you read, the better your comprehension and vocabulary will become.
Revision is very important in order to retain the information that you have read, hence don't neglect this at all.
