Dear Student,
In order to become a CA, earlier, it was required for a candidate to complete 12th and then, the candidate was supposed to register with the ICAI Institute and then candidates was supposed to give CA Foundation or CA CPT exam which was of qualifying nature and even the candidates who have completed their degree are also supposed to give an CPT exam.
But ICAI from 1st August 2012 has introduced a direct entry scheme for the candidates who have completed their Graduation degree. In this a Graduate candidates is exempted from the CPT exam and can now directly take an admission for the CA IPCC. From February 2016 the ICAI have made some changes in the CA Course and Syllabus. Now the CA IPCC course is renamed as the CA Intermediate course. So you need to take an admission for the CA Integrated course.
In order to be eligible for the CA Direct entry scheme one needs to score an aggregate 55% marks in the commerce graduation degree from a recognised University and having studied any three papers of 100 marks each out of Accounting, mercantile law, Corporate law, economics, Management, Costing Business Administration or Business Accounting, Taxation (Direct and Indirect Tax). So no more you need to give a CA Foundation | CA CPT or CA Foundation exam after completing your B.com and other graduation.
If you secured more than 50 percent in your graduation then you can directly enroll in the 2nd level which is known as the IPCC. However, if you have scored less than 50 percent marks in your graduation, then you will be required to clear the CPT exam first. Any graduates with less than a 50 percent score cannot directly appear for inter CA and have to pass CA-CPT exam first.
