i studied 1-10th in karnataka ,from 1-8th the region was rural but it became urban after my 8 th .. my question is shld i put my rural certificates in the kcet councelling ?
Hi aspirant,
According to the gazette notification issued by Karnataka government, a rural candidate is one who has studied from 1st standard to 10th standard, where qualifying examination is SSLC or higher in a school in any area other than a large urban area, smaller urban area or transitional area specified under Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act or Karnataka Municipalities Act. Students must have studied at such a school specifically in a rural area for 10 full academic years to be eligible for rural category quota.
Since your school belongs to a transitional area, which transitioned from being a rural to an urban area, you are not eligible for rural area quota.
Hope it helps.
