What matters when you are being considered for placements by a certain company is your Academic performance through out the course, your performance in the interview. Now there might be any reason why you might have studied the first year twice but what the company looks for is the genuine efforts you put all through your education. You should be able to express your strengths and the areas where you can improve yourself and convert your weaknesses to opportunities to excel. Work on your Communication skills, problem solving skills, Willingness to learn. If a recruiter asks the reason about you repeating your 1st year twice, be honest. That helps. Also let them know that you are willing to learn and open to learning. These are the qualities that a recruiter would see in you. Good luck:)
