I studied up to12th standard in andhra pradesh. Am i eligible for tnea?

Hi Vadisetty,

As per the eligiblity criteria given by Anna University, candidate who has studied 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th nad 12th class outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible. But they have to submit their nativity certificate only in eletronic form or digital e certificate.

According to the eligibility criteria of tnea-

Candidates who are Tamil Nadu natives but have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply.They will have to enclose a copy of their nativity certificate only in electronic form/ digitally signed e-Certificate.

  • The candidates those studied their VIII, IX, X , XII and XII standards from Tamil Nadu state are eligible to apply. They no need to enclose the Nativity certificate.
  • The candidates those studied their VII, IX, X , XII, XII and equivalent exam from outside Tamil Nadu state are also eligible to apply. Such candidates have to enclose the copy of Nativity Certificate in electronic form/digitally signed e-signed certificate.
  • Children of Central Government Employees can also apply irrespective of their nativity. Their parents or guardians (if parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu since five years at the time of submission of application. In this case candidates have to enclose the certificate from the employer of the parents/guardian.
  • Children of employees in Public Sector or Government recognized Institutions working since five years in TN may also apply irrespective of their domicile. In this case candidates have to enclose evidence of it such as the Income Tax Return, PF Slips, etc.
  • Sons and daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates those studied their VIII, IX, X , XII and XII from TN state are also eligible to apply. They need not enclose Nativity Certificate.

That means iam not eligible to apply tnea being studied upto 12th in a.p.

  • Candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply for TNEA 2018.

  • Candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They will have to enclose a copy of their nativity certificate of tamilnadu only in electronic form/ digitally signed e-Certificate.

  • Candidates whose parents are central government employees are also eligible to apply for admission, irrespective of their nativity, provided if their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years at the time of application submission. The same has to be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect.

  • Candidates whose parents are employees in public sector or government recognised institutions at the time of application submission in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years can also apply for admission, irrespective of their domicile. In this case, a certificate from the employer has to be enclosed along with the application form stating that the person is a permanent employee of the form or institution along with evidence like income tax return, PF slips etc and is working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years.

  • Candidates whose parents are employees of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are also eligible to apply.

  • Candidates from outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply for TNEA, provided they have studied VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standard in Tamil Nadu. They do not have to disclose their nativity certificate.

  • Candidates who have studied in Tamil Nadu and are Srilankan Tamil refugee can apply for admission and they will be considered under open competition. They will have to produce their identification certificate from the Head Quarters Tahsildar. For all those who have not registered in the refugee camp will have to submit a copy of their passport, visa and letter registered with police station.
