Unfortunately, you cannot hold multiple seats simultaneously in different Institutions including the NLUs. If you secure admission to an NLUs through CLAT and subsequently qualify for neet you will need choose one and finally accept the offer from institution. That means you have to let go of the Other Institution. In the clat counselling you will be called for counselling based on clat rank, and you will need to choose an seat and lock your seat by paying a seat acceptance fees. And if you qualify for Neet counselling, you will participate in the counselling process for medical colleges and then you will need to choose the college and lock your seat. Both require seat acceptance fee to secure your seat and you will needed to submit original document for verification. If you want to avoid any complications its advisable to carefully consider your option and decide on a proper decision. NEET COUNSELLING
Hello,
Here is an overview of your issue :-
-
NLU Admission and Document Submission:
Most NLUs require original documents during admission, which may be retained until you withdraw or complete the course. This ensures commitment to the seat. -
Retrieval for NEET Admission :
- You may request temporary return of documents if needed for NEET counselling , citing valid reasons.
- Policies vary by university; some allow this with written assurance or by submitting photocopies instead.
-
Seat Retention vs. Withdrawal:
- If you retrieve your documents for NEET, you may need to officially withdraw from the NLU to avoid policy violations.
- Check NLU-specific rules during counselling as they impact document handling.
-
Alternatives:
- Consider pre-requesting notarized copies of documents for NEET use.
- Confirm with both NEET and NLU authorities to align procedures.
Early planning is essential to manage overlapping admission timelines.
Hope it helps !
If you have taken seat through CLAT as a backup plan you can withdraw your admission from an NLU (National Law University) to pursue admission in NEET, but you should check the specific withdrawal policies of your NLU and potential fee implications involved with withdrawing from your current program.
Generally it takes time to withdraw admission and iys a long process if your college is not cooperative so you might get some trouble in future because if they dont give your documents on time the NEET counselling may get closed.so make sure the college into which you are getting admission is reputed and will not create issue in future.
All the best for future!!
