Hello,
If you are seeking admission to undergraduate course in Indian Institute of Space and Technology (IIST) then you need to qualify in JEE Advanced. There is no specific criteria for the passing year in the qualifying examination set by IIST but the admission is based on score in JEE Advanced so you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria to appear for JEE Main and JEE Advanced. To apply for JEE Advanced you must qualify in JEE Main. A candidate can appear for JEE Main for three consecutive years from the year of passing in the qualifying examination. To seek admission to IIST in 2023 you need to qualify in JEE Main 2023 and JEE Advanced 2023. To apply for JEE Main 2023 you must have passed 10+2 or it equivalent in the year 2023. If you pass in 10+2 or its equivalent in the year 2023 you can apply for JEE Main 2023, 2024 and JEE Main 2025. A candidate can apply for JEE Advanced for two consecutive years from the passing in the qualifying examination that is 10+2 or its equivalent. So if you pass in 10+2 in the year 2023 you can apply for JEE Advanced 2023 and JEE Advanced 2024 provided you must qualify in the JEE Main 2023 and JEE Main 2024 respectively.
If you haven't still passed yet in the qualifying examination then you must pass in 10+2 or its equivalent in 2022 or 2023 to be eligible to apply for admission in 2023 as you can appear for JEE Advanced for two consecutive years from the year of passing in the qualifying examination.
For IIST you need to qualify the examination of JEE ADVANCED. Now for JEE ADVANCED a student have a maximum of 2 attempts. The first attempt is on the year of boards & the second/last attempt is the consecutive year of board. So if you qualify the JEE ADVANCED in any of this two years, you are eligible to take admission in IIST.
For example, if you are appearing for Boards 2022 then also you are eligible for the JEE ADVANCED 2023 and if you crack you can get admission.
