For Being a pilot, you should be at least 18 years old and you should have had completed your 10+2 in science stream. Your score should be at least 60% in physics, chemistry, and mathematics while having good communication skills and command of English language
You will need to be fit and healthy to qualify for the fitness criteria.
Moreover, If you are thinking of getting into the Indian Air Force, additional fitness standards will also apply:
- Height at least 162 cm with appropriate weight
- Leg length 99 – 120 cm
- Thigh length Maximum 64 cm
- Sitting height 82 cm to 96 cm
ou should take admission in a reputed flying school to start your learning and practice. You will have to clear a number of hours based on the type of license you want to earn.
- Student pilot license (SPL)- basic license to start your career. Age required: 16 and above
- Private pilot license (PPL)- You can get the Licence after a total of 60 hours of flight under the provision of trainers. Age required: 17 and above
- Commercial pilot license (CPL)- You will need to clear 190 hours of flight. Age required: 18 and above
- Airline Transport Pilot: As per the latest guidelines a person will have to clear at least 1000 hrs of flight. Age required: 21-23 years.
