I want get admission in fms. So how much marks/percentile require for that. If I am a ncl-obc student.
Based on your overall academic profile and category, you will need to score atleast 93 percentile in CAT to get a call for the next round.
All the best!
FMS is one of the few top colleges which does not give weightage to work experience or academics at all during selection of students.
FMS gives 85% weightage to CAT percentile, 5% to extempore and 10% to personal interview. So your main focus should be to get maximum percentile in order to get a call from FMS and convert it.
You can get a call from FMS with 95+ percentile but as weightage of CAT percentile is very high I will strongly recommend you to atleast get 97+ percentile.
Interviews of FMS is of very short duration. Say it as approx 5-7 min on average in which there is also a one min extempore. So you cannot rely on those marks for getting admission. It's better to get a very high percentile and make yourself on the safer side.
All the best for your last days preparations and exams!!
To be more precise, 85% weight is given to CAT percentile, rest is your interview and extempore. For a general candidate, 99.6 percentile backed with a good interview directs to a stronger chance of final convert and so for an NC-OBC, candidate 99 percentile backed with a good percentile will give you almost a strong and positive response. Other than that, yes you can receive calls for extempore and interview with anywhere between 90-100 percentile.
As per last year's trends, students with 95 percentile in NC-OBC category, have received calls for further processes in Faculty of Management Studies. However, here it's important to know one thing that FMS, unlike other B- schools, gives more weight to percentile and other parameters like interviews and extempore are given slightly lower weight. So, whether you belong to a category or not, try to cross 99 percentile to strengthen your chances of getting into FMS.
All the best!!
Last year for NC-OBC, FMS call was given at around 90 percentile for male
There are additional marks for females so you could get a call at lower percentile also
