The goal of the programme is to give information and training on forest management. Forestry management involves the management of forests, the administration of new plantations, the maintenance of old plantations, and the restoration of other natural resources.

Candidates for the BSc Forestry programme must have completed their class 12th or equivalent from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Admission to BSc Physics is based on both merit and entrance tests. Diploma holders with the requisite percentage in the particular field may also apply for the programme.
