I want to apply for a OBC certificate. One of my blood relative has an OBC certificate but the problem is that it was issued in 1991. It is very old and contain registration no. and issue date. Serial No. and certificate no. is absent. So, how can I apply?
First of all you must visit your state's Backward Class Welfare Portal. Department names can be different as per each state. So, choose your department carefully.
Now follow the instructions to get your certificate online.
1.Click on link "Apply for Caste Certificate Online"Create a new account in the portal or you can fill online application form directly.
2.After creating the account log in into the portal using the username and password
3.Fill the details in online form such as address, contact details, personal details, local reference details etc...
4.Verify all the details you have filled in the online form and if you agree with terms and condition click submit button.
5.Once you submitted you are supposed to click the type of document you are uploading for proof
6.Upload the scanned copies of documents and click on "Submit" button
7.Once submitted, then you will get an acknowledgement slip along with the application number.
8.You can take a print out of the acknowledgement slip or save it offline. Also save the application number in order to check the application status.After the verification is done successfully, you can directly download the caste certificate from the portal itself.
9.You may also get email / SMS once the process is done.
Meanwhile, you can check the status online from the same portal. On the same portal click on "Check Caste Certificate Status" link. You need an application number for that.
