i want to be a forest officer what should i need to study after bsc cbz ???

Hi

If you want to get become forest officer i. e you want to get into Indian forest services then you need to clear UPSC IFS i. e UPSC Indian forest Services Exam .

Having completed Bsc CBZ, now you don't need to get any other degree.

This is because,

With bsc CBZ i. e chemistry botany and zoology you are eligible for UPSC IFSC examination and after clearing it you can become an IFS officer

For reference,

Eligibility criteria for Indian forest services examination is provided below

-----------------------------) Educational Qualification: you must have your Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects listed below -

  • -)Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science,

  • - ) Botany,

  • - ) Chemistry,

  • - ) Geology,

  • - ) Mathematics,

  • - ) Physics,

  • - ) Statistics

  • - ) Zoology

  • - ) Bachelor's degree in Agriculture / Forestry / Engineering


-----------------------------) Minimum  age  limit :-  you  need to  be at least  21  years  old   to be  eligible as on 1st of August of the year of filling the form

-----------------------------) Maximum  age  limit :-  32 years , also there's 3  year  relaxation on upper age limit for  obc and of  5 years  for sc/st category.

-----------------------------) Attempt limit:- The maximum of times one can appear in UPSC is given below category wise :-


  • General/ EWS - 6

  • OBC or  General PwD - 9

  • SC/ ST - No limit ,   can appear till upper age limit

You should be citizen of India

Or should be citizen of

-----) Nepal

-----) Bhutan

-----) or you need to be a  Tibetan refugee, who came before 1st January  1962 to permanently settle here in India

or you should be Indian origin person  migrated to permanently settle in India from :

-----)Sri Lanka

-----)Uganda

-----) Kenya

-----) Tanzania

-----)Malawi

-----)Zambia

-----)Zaire

-----)Ethiopia

-----)Vietnam.

You have to go through 3 levels

  • Prelims,

  • Mains

  • Interview.

Finally, on  the basis of your performance in the Mains exam, and interview, you are selected for the post of IFS officer. Prelims examination is just qualifying in nature. Only mains and interview marks are are considered towards the final merit list

To be a forest officer the candidate should have a degree in Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture or Horticulture of Veterinary Science or Bachelor of Science Degree with atleast any of  of the following subjects namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or a holder of Bachelor of Engineering Degree in any recongnised board .
