To become IAS officer you need to appear for UPSC Civil Services Examination. The eligiblity criteria for appearing in UPSC CSE is that the candidate should have a graduation degree from any recognised university in any discipline. So doing any of the courses B.SC or BA would make you eligible.
However it is recommended that you go for BA Geography course, because they syllabus of BA Geography and the geography syllabus of UPSC exams match to some extent. Infact you can take Geography as your optional paper in CSE. Optional is the game changer paper in CSE. So your graduation will definitely help you with your preparation.

You can go for Geography if you want to go for IAS in future as it'll help you in optional subject of IAS paper. But i'll recommend you to choose the subject which interest you the most at graduation level because graduation is your foundation for your future career so you should make a decision wisely. Also go for geography only of you really have interest in the subject.

If you want to be an IAS officer and have interest in geography then you should take geography in your BA and take optional as geography in upsc mains of civil services exam. Many students have geography as their choice as it's an interesting subject too.
