Dear Adil,

1. Get a degree in Physics (with mathematics would help)
2. As an undergrad, understand, appreciate and experience every bit of Physics you do. (Congrats! You are an amateur Physicist)
3. Depending on which Branch of Physics interests you the most, do an internship or a project under a professor who works in that field.
4. Finish your masters. Clear the NET, get a PhD from a good institute. (You are now universally qualified to continue research.)
5. Put your heart and soul into your research!
