I browsed about it some time ago when I myself wondered about it. The salary range for a video game developer starts low but has the potential to grow quickly. Starting salaries often fall somewhere around $35,000, but after successfully working on three or four projects it can reach as high as $60,000. After five or six projects, the salary can reach $85,000, and after enough projects are completed developers often become executive producers, which comes with a six-figure salary, or take their chances on opening their own studio.

Depends on what you have to offer.
If you are offering to operate Photoshop and convert someone else's vision into neat graphics, you are competing with DTP folks and you get paid a similar amount (around 25k INR a month)

It totally depends on the college you are graduating from. Private colleges can even offer a package varing from 2.5 to 4 lakhs pa whereas government institutions like NID, packages can jump from 7 lakhs to 13 lakhs.
