For going into a teaching profession you will require the UG and PG degree i.e B.Ed + M.Ed or B.A + M.A.
The admission to UG courses B.Ed and B.A is generally done on the merit basis i.e based on the marks scored in class 12th examination. But there are a few universities that conduct their own entrance exams so you need to check with the universities itself about the admissio policy.
Also there are different state level exams also.
