Hello,

How to Become an Indian Pilot

Aspiring candidates in India have two options for pursuing their pilot careers: Civil Aviation or the Indian Defense Force.

According to the Directorate of General of Civil Aviation in India, prospective applicants must seek several commercial pilot certificates from various reputable agencies in order to become a pilot in civil aviation, commonly known as a commercial pilot . One must fly a certain kind of aircraft for a specific airline business in India in order to become a commercial pilot. For this, there are several training academies worldwide, like the Flight Safety Academy, Pan AM International Flying Academy, and others.

One must first pass a number of entrance exams in order to join the Indian Defence Force as a pilot , after which they must go through a rigorous three-year training programme at the National Defense Academy. In addition to the multiple aptitude tests, candidates must pass medical exams in which their height, weight, and eye sight are carefully assessed.
