Hello,

You need to complete your graduation first.

Start reading newspapers and watching news channels as it will help your base.

You can choose BA as your subject now which will help in your further preparations.

Any degree or graduation/post-graduation in any subject is alright. For higher education, one should always pursue the subject which one finds interesting and is comfortable with. Academic career and interest should not be compromised for an uncertain and highly competitive career in civil service.

You can follow unacademy channel on YouTube.

Cheers !!

Hi,

Firstly you have to graduate in any particular course, start preparing for civil services from its initials. Give much time to your studies, start reading news papers and current affairs and history as well.

Thanks!

Hello Hariom,

For becoming an IAS Officer, first you will have to complete your graduation from any recognised University or equivalent qualification.

Your age limit must be between 21 and 32 years as on August 1 of year of recruitment.

After graduation, you will have to appear for UPSC civil services exam. It is a national level screening exam for recruitment of various posts and civil services under Government of India such as IAS.

UPSC civil services examination is conducted in 3 stages- Prelims, Mains and then Interview.

If you want to start your preparation from now on, you can start preparing.

Syllabus of the exam is also vast. You need to keep yourself updated about the current affairs and general knowledge as they are asked in the examination. Start reading newspaper. Also, go through the detailed syllabus of the exam and make your plan accordingly, but first get admission in graduation and you can prepare for UPSC exam side by side.

Hard work, consistency, determination and dedication is required to clear the exam.

Hope this helps you. Good Luck!

Hi,
It depends on your interest to take admission in BA or B.Sc.

However,I would advice you to go for B.A degree as it would be easier to prepare for UPSC exam with that.
And will also help you with the course of the examination like degree in BA political science.
You can prepare on your own or join any coaching institute.
Online study material are also available now a days.
You must be dedicated and determined to clear tge exam.
Study hard and prepare well. Good Luck!!
