There is no specific subject or stream is made for IPS but you can take subjects like history, political science, and law which will help you in preparation of UPSC examination.courses such as public administration develops skills in this area and you need to focus on what's happening in your society and around the world.

You can give exam after graduation meanwhile you have plenty of time to build yourself your confidence leadership and enhance your personality.you can also take help of coaching classes for guidance.

Hello

To become an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer, you should focus on a career in law enforcement and public administration.

After 10th:

- Choose the Science or Commerce stream, as they offer a broader range of subjects and can help you develop analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Focus on subjects like Political Science, History, Geography, and Economics, which can provide a foundation for understanding governance and public administration.

After 12th:

- Pursue a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like:

- Law (LL.B.)

- Political Science

- Public Administration

- Criminal Justice

- Sociology

- Develop skills in languages, especially English, as it's a crucial aspect of the IPS exam.

After Graduation:

- Prepare for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

- Clear the CSE to become eligible for IPS training.

Remember, becoming an IPS officer requires dedication, hard work, and a strong understanding of the related subjects. Focus on developing your skills, knowledge, and physical fitness to achieve your goal .

best of luck

Hello Deepika,

To become an IPS officer in India, here's a general guideline for your educational path:

1) After 10th Grade:

  • Choose a stream in high school (11th and 12th grade) that aligns with your interests and strengths. Typically, the most common streams for IPS aspirants are Science (with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) or Humanities (with subjects like History, Political Science, and Economics).

2) For Degree (Bachelor's Level):

  • After completing 12th grade, pursue a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The most common paths chosen by IPS aspirants include:

    a) Bachelor of Arts (BA) in subjects like History, Political Science, Public Administration, etc.

    b) Bachelor of Science (BSc) in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc.

    c) Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) is also an option.

It's important to note that the specific degree field does not restrict you from applying for the IPS exam. However, many aspirants choose subjects in the humanities or sciences to align with the UPSC syllabus and their own interests.

3) Preparation for IPS Exam:

  • Alongside your degree studies, start preparing for the Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This includes:

    a) Clearing the Preliminary Exam (objective type)
    b) Qualifying the Main Exam (descriptive type)
    c) Appearing for the Interview (Personality Test)

4) Additional Skills and Requirements:

  • Develop strong communication skills, general knowledge, and awareness of current affairs.
  • Maintain a good physical fitness level as the IPS also requires physical endurance.

By choosing a stream and degree that interests you and aligns with your strengths, you can effectively prepare yourself academically and mentally for the competitive journey towards becoming an IPS officer.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.
