Hello Anagha,
Pursuing mechanical, electronic or computer science engineering is the way to get into ISRO. Look out for their call for recruitment for the post of scientist / engineer (first week of Feb) during the final year of engineering. The cut-off for applications is 65 %. If you want to pursue mechanical, make sure you have taken at least 3 thermal subjects, including Applied Thermodynamics, and Heat and Mass Transfer. This way you can also apply for HVAC posts.
All the best.
