First of all, you need to obtain adequate qualification for IAS. Basically any graduate can apply for this test. Candidates must have completed 21 years to apply. After graduation, you can apply for the selection test through the portal of UPSC. UPSC portal contain adequate information on selection test (CSAT and mains).

Being an IAS officer, the process is quite easy however the competition is huge. For becoming an IAS officer, you will have to clear the UPSC Examination. The exam comprises of a prelims paper, a main paper, and a final interview. If you complete all the sections, and are among the top 100 people who successfully qualify the three stages, definitely you will be recruited as an IAS officer.
Since you are in 12th now, the basic eligibility of the UPSC exam is graduation. Therefore, first you will have to complete your graduation and then you will be eligible for the exam. During your graduation, you can prepare for UPSC side by side, or join some coaching institute.
