I want to crack AIIMS 2020 please help me how I start preparation from zero level
Hello Bhavya
It is really nice to see that you want to prepare for one of the prestigious examination of our country. And since the name is esteemed, the level of difficulty will be pretty good. The AIIMS exam consists of different sections, namely- physics, chemsitry, biology(botony and zoology), general knowledge and logical reasoning. All the questions are each of 1 mark, total questions being 200(60 each from PCB, 10 each from GK and LR). So, you need to focus on all the parts. Start from the basics, i.e. learn the fundamentals of PCB. NCERT books will be good for that. Along with each chapter, solve some basic level questions- both subjective and objective. Then after you are thorough with the concepts, solve some tough questions. Thus, increase your level of difficulty gradually.
Keep in mind that some topics will be easy and completed in less time than other topics. Sort out the topics accordingly and spend your time wisely. This way your productivity will increase.
Another work which is really important is solving previous years question papers. Solve as many as you can. Ensure that your solutions are correct, if not check why and crosscheck the concept you are applying is correct or not. Also, spend some time readng news and learning some new facts.
Keep yourself motivated. Don't forget to pursue your interests along with your studies. Make your time table for each day. Pamper yourself. Keep practising and don't lose hope.
I hope this helps. All the very best!!
Dear aspirant,
You have almost a year to go and sit for AIIMS. In this year, set the highest achievable goal. If you are starting from scratch, start it right away. Spend almost 12 hours studying. Clear your concepts time to time. Make sure you are thorough with your subject. Solve previous year papers chapterwise. Make sure you don’t skip any topic. Start studying from NCERT. Day by day increase the contentand refer other books. NCERT has never been enough for AIIMS. For physics, refer HC Verma.
For Chemistry, refer Irodov and for biology refer Dinesh’s objective biology.

Make sure you are thorough with each topic and each chapter and only then proceed to the next one. You can ask for more if you want to.
Hello Bhavya
Starting from ground Zero level I suggest you to be through in your NCERT books first(especially Biology). Though I would suggest you that start doing GRB for physics and chemistry after completing NCERT. I always prefer GRB because it gives you a lot of practice and have a plethora of questions. After reading NCERT line by line and understanding each and every concept start doing Macmillan and GRB biology. I would suggest practice as much as possible and always keep a timer and note timing because AIIMS is for fast and accurate students. So keep practicing. Also don't forget to make a routine and a list of chapters you have completed and chapters you have left. Track your daily progress. As GK also comes in paper be in touch with news and basic GKs.
Best of luck
I hope my answer will help you.
Hi Bhavya,
Please do understand the fact that cracking any national level examination and securing a good rank in it is mostly dependent on the fact that how much effort you put in for it. The most part of this effort includes self-study and self-assessment and the rest is dependent upon the other factors such as if you opt for additional classes, materials, etc but at the end of the day its the self study and honesty that matters to achieve success.
