Hello Somenath,

The main advantage that a coaching brings to the students is discipline and consistency. Thanks to a battery of weekly tests, the exposure to fellow students who are preparing, and constant motivation from teachers, a coaching institute keeps us on our toes. It ensures that we study regularly and effectively. You may spend a week on a given chapter but the teacher at the institute may be able to tell you that the chapter has barely any weightage in the the exam based on a decade’s previous year papers, so you would know that you need to invest lesser time on the given chapter and more time on others.

Another obviou advantage is the availability of a mentor to clear any doubts you may have.

But if you believe you have the self-discipline to remain consistent throughout with your studies and have someone in your family or friend circle who can mentor you, then sure you can opt for only a test series from a good institution like Allen or Aakash and not join regular coaching.

If coaching feels too taxing and you believe you can tick the above boxes needed for self preparation, then don’t join a full time coaching.

I hope this helped make your decision a little easier.

Good luck!

Hello Husniya,This is a tricky question, to be fair anything is possible really. But I think as important as it is to dream big, it is equally important to set realistic goals. Why? So we can protect ourselves from major disappointment and loss of morale in the future. Hypothetically, yes it is possible but I would recommend that at this stage you shift your focus from the result and instead focus on the hard work you can put in  For one month, forget that you’re doing this for any college or any marks.Think about it this way, they are really interesting subjects, and you want to learn them as best as you can in this one month. So bring your attention to your preparation, this is the time to tell yourself “Karam karo phal ki chinta mat karo” Set realistic short term goals, keeping in mind your grasping ability and memory. There is no point in studying for 12 hours straight if after that you’re too tired to study for the next three days.Study parallely, so that you can break the monotony. For example, complete cellular respiration, solve its question bank then move to aromatic hydrocarbone, then move onto electricity. Keep solving question papers. Also if you want to revise quickly and have a friend who is senior or junior in the same field, ask them if you can explain or teach them this small topic. If you teach well, you can be assured you understand it well. Make sure you do not compromise on your meals or your sleep, an unhealthy body cannot house a healthy mind okay? So for the next one month, the goal is not to get marks or college. The goal is only one to complete as much syllabus as possible and as well as possible without burning yourself out.If you can do this, without a doubt you will have an incredible result in your upcoming exams. All the very best!!
