Bachelor of Business Administration (BBM) is the pillar course of Management which starts from the very basic level of management and deals with all the management and business aspects.
According to University Grants Commission, there are no any specialised branches or choices to be made as its the basic management course for the beginners.
But however, there are few options available: BBA, BBA Hons. and Integrated courses offered by colleges.
BBA and BBA Honours: BBA course stands for the General Management Course with no further specialisation in any subjects and each subjects is given an equal importance. But, BBA Honours is a specialised course which gives important to the core subjects. The passing marks in the core subjects is more the subsidary papers and it is compulsory for all the students to pass the examination and then only they will be promoted.
There are two types of paper in BBA Honours:
1.Main or Honours Paper:These are those specialised and core subjects for which the passing marks are more than the subsidiary papers and it is compulsory to pass in these subjects to qualify for BBA Honours. These papers include the core management subjects: Management Fundamentals, Business Environment, Marketing Management etc.
2.Subsidiary Paper: These are those papers which are optional papers mostly language papers with various choices or general papers like Economics. These papers are just add-ons of general knowledge and do not place much importance and the passing marks is also less than the honours papers. These papers include the subjects like English, Hindi, General Knowledge, General Economics, General Accounting, etc.
Integrated Courses: Integrated courses are those courses which are combined together with other specialised courses. There are various institutions providing different integrated courses of BBA under their domain.
Example: Some institutes provide integrated 5 years courses which include 3 years BBA course and 2 years MBA which is combined together as a advanced management courses.
