D.El.Ed is a 2-year full-time diploma course which is divided into 4 semesters. Candidates who have qualified 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible to apply.

Admission process for the course comprises an entrance exam followed by a round of personal interview. D.El.Ed. Syllabus for the same varies from one college to another. Questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects of 10+2 level are asked in the entrance exam.

Questions are asked in 3 sections in this exam. Separate cut off list for each section is issued. Those who cleared the cut off are selected for the course in various colleges.

All candidates who qualify the entrance exam are called for an interview. Based on the candidate's performance in the entrance exam, personal interview and marks obtained, he/she will be provided admission into the course.
