Hi,
I think you want to know what course you should do after your class XII to become a fashion designer. So I would answer this in this context.
If you wish to pursue fashion designing in your life, the very first thing is to be eligible for the course. For that, you will have to pass minimum 10+2 from a recognised board (CBSE/ICSE) after which you can apply for a design course.
There is an option to start with design that is B.Des (Bachelor of Design) and there is a specialised course also which focuses on Fashion Design which is of 4 years in total. So you can do B.Des to become a fashion designer and then you can do your masters in fashion design also which is for another 2 years.
The selections are based on merit basis along with creative interviews for national level institutes like NIFT. There are also many private universities which offer the same level education and exposure, their selections are based on minimum merit eligibility which is 50%, their private entrance tests like DAT and personal interviews to judge your creative levels.
You can start working in fashion design industry even after completing your B.Des. There are many opportunities you can select from. You can start designer rightaway, work for corporates, or initially you can join fashion houses and assist designers to learn new skills. There are many industries which need fashion assistance like media houses, ad agencies, marketing companies, movies, clothing companies, e-commerce companies, product fashion etc. So over time you can gain experience, skills, specialty and market knowledge which later on you can apply to pursue masters according to your pool of learning and then you can float your own full fledged designer label.
Hope this helps.
Hey!
You can start preparing for this course from the high school itself. You can learn some visual designing course like CoralDraw, Adobe etc.
The main step starts with a fashion bachelor's degree. You can go for an undergraduate course in the fashion Industry.
You can also opt for bachelor's degree in visual arts or art history. You can also pursue a short term course for the same.
Hope this answer helps!
