An update on the syllabus for the entrance exam.

Questions will be generally asked pertaining to aptitude of language, comprehension questions, general knowledge, artificial language, essays on the works of eminent personalities in the field of Language and so on. I am guessing that you're planning to pursue your degree in B.A. Hons. German. Like other undergraduate courses with specialisation in  languages, the syllabus for German includes (as given by various Universities and Colleges):

• Communicative Grammar
• Language in writing
• Oral expression
• Introduction to Literature
• Language in writing and oral expression
• Translation

The criteria for eligibility for this course is to qualify your 10+2 examinations with passing marks or an aggregate of 60% and above, with having had German as a subject from a recognised school board.

There are various employment aspects of this course. You can teach at colleges and universities, at various language departments and enrol yourself at the embassy as well. You also have the opportunity to be a translator or you could work as a tour guide. Other options include being a linguistic expert, customer service representative etc.
