Hello Aqsa,
Pursuing an MBBS degree at Harvard Medical School (HMS) involves several key steps:
1. Educational Prerequisites:
- HMS requires applicants to have completed at least three years of college coursework and hold a bachelor’s degree before applying. This means that completing an undergraduate degree, typically in the U.S. or Canada, is necessary.
2. Admission Requirements:
- MCAT: Taking the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is mandatory.
- Coursework: Specific prerequisite courses must be completed.
- English Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in English is essential.
3. Financial Considerations:
- Scholarships and Financial Aid: HMS offers need-based financial aid to international students, but securing funding is crucial, as proof of funds is needed for visa purposes.
4. Application Process:
- Submit your application through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS), complete the HMS secondary application if invited, and attend interviews if selected.
5. Alternative Pathways:
-
Other Countries:
Consider medical schools in the UK, Australia, or Europe, where requirements may vary.
- India: Explore reputable medical colleges in India that offer MBBS programs directly after 12th grade.
6. Preparation Steps:
- Research: Investigate the admission criteria for each institution.
- Standardized Tests: Prepare for required exams like the MCAT.
- Financial Planning: Plan for tuition and living expenses, exploring scholarships to support your studies.
Planning carefully and consulting educational counselors can help streamline this journey. Each step demands careful attention to detail and dedication.

Harvard is a Medical School in the US and you need to complete your pre-medical course before joining it.Pre-medical courses are generally 4 years long, you'll be accepted based upon the scores you get in your SATs for abroad and in india you need to complete 4 year bachelor's degree which is essentially a BSc degree.apart from these your school grades are also considered which has to be exceptionally good as in u s there is high competition more tha than Neet.
Now coming to scholarship You can get certain scholarships from the university or from an external sponsor, but be ready to pay atleast Insurance, travel, parking passes, day-to-day eatable and household things.initially you need to pay but after years when you have job you can easily manage it the thing is you need to pay even if you have scholarship.you can apply Aga Khan Scholarship, HGSE Financial Aid, and the Banyan Impact Fellowship for scholarship. The Committee on General Scholarships (CGS) awards financial assistance to international students, but funding is competitive.
Hope everything is clear to you..
Thanks..
