Here are the best institutes in India with good placement, excellent faculty and dynamic departments in biotechnology.

1. IIT (Indian Institute of Technology)

IIT is the best place to study Biotechnology and it is known for it all over the world. The best branches for this would be Delhi, Madras and Kharagpur. The course available is M.Tech. in Biochemical Engineering and M.Sc. Biotechnology. Entrance test is conducted for the same.

Moreover, the placements of the same are great.

2. Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra

There are only 30 seats in BIT MSc. Biotechnology course. It is one of the best colleges when it comes to the field of technology. Though the previous reports for placements have been bad it has strengthened and now has more recruiters. The Mesra campus boasts of an average package of INR 10.4 lakhs per annum and the highest national salary of 40.63 lakhs per annum for BE Programme.

3. Vellore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu

VIT also conducts joint research project by understanding methodologies of other international universities.The School of Bioscience & Technology has a lot of topics taken up for research in the field of Microbiology, Medical Genetics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics and other branches of Biomedical Sciences. It has a lot of tie ups with other colleges as well. The top recruiter of VIT has been Microsoft, Philips, HP, TCS and Bosch among many others.

4. Madurai Kamaraj University

The university has Centre of excellence in Bioinformatics, Centre for plant molecular biology and Centre for genetic engineering & strain manipulation. They are mainly focusing on the development of research & manpower, providing services in the area of structural bioinformatics, proteomics, database development, molecular modelling and drug designing. Placements of VIT are good. But some students have reported that they are not satisfied with them.
