I want to do my MBA from some good ivy league and I don't possess any work experience so which college should I target on GMAT score basis?
The average GMAT scores for students admitted into some of the best B-schools is above 720 out of 800. But, for any ivy league school a GMAT score wont be enough to garner you admission or even a token to the interview round of admissions.
Work experience is crucial to the admissions procedure, so it is highly recommeded that if you have time then you should try gaining at least one year of work experience.
Additionally, the MBA essays play an integral role in the admissions criteria. A candidate is generally expected to write 3-4 essays per college or univerisity and these essays are the primary form of interaction betweent the candidate and the admissions committee. It is important to perform sufficienct research on the proper way to write an MBA essay and practice multiple times before submitting your final essay through the application portal. These essays often hold equal if not more weight in the admission criteria and will help you compensate for your lack of work experience.
Hi Kshitij Saxena,
You might need work experience enlisted in you resume for executive MBA. As far as regular MBA program I guess a good GMAT score would possibly help.

Glad to know about your interest in pursuing your MBA from an ivy league college. But first of all i might suggest you to work for some years to get some experience as in USA and many other countries one needs to have a minimum 2 years of work experience to be eligible for admission and same goes with all the ivy league colleges. Do keep in mind that one needs an exceptionally well profile for being even considered for ivy league colleges. Best of luck.
Hope this might help you.
