I want to give cat entrance exam but i don't have any knowledge about the syllabus and subject...can someone tell me about it??

Hope you are doing well. I will brief you regarding the topics you need to cover to prepare for CAT.

The complete list of topics for CAT 2019 Syllabus is as follows:

  • Quantitative Aptitude – Geometry, HCF & LCM, Averages, Trigonometry, Algebra, Partnership(Accounts), Mensuration, Profit & Loss, Time-Speed-Distance, Ratios and Proportion, In-equations Quadratic and linear equations, Surds and Indices, Number system, Geometric Progression, Inequalities, Work and time, Percentages, Logarithms.
  • Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning – Blood Relations, Series, Proposition, Direction Sense, Coding-Decoding, Assumptions, Puzzles, Clocks and Calendars, Statements, Data Arrangement, Family Tree, Binary Logic, Seating Arrangement, Venn Diagram, Sets, Data Structures, Syllogism, Tables, Pie Charts, Caselets, Bars, Line Graphs, Data Sufficiency.
  • Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension – Fill in the blanks, Verbal Reasoning, Sentence completion, Grammar, Syllogisms, Jumbled paragraphs, Para completion and inference, Contextual usage, Foreign language words used in English, Reading Comprehension, Analogies, Sentence correction, Verbal logic, Different usage of same word, Idioms, Para jumbles, Antonyms and One word substitution.


CAT 2019 Syllabus: Quantitative Aptitude

  • In this section, there are a few topics which are extremely crucial and come every year in the CAT Exam.
  • In this section, 34 questions are asked of which 8-9 questions are TITA based.


C AT 2019 Syllabus: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning

  • In this section, 34 questions are included among which 7-8 questions are TITA based.
  • Out of these, the RCs are the majority.


CAT 2019 Syllabus: Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation

  • In the CAT 2019 LRDI section, 2 questions are included with 8-9 TITA based questions.
  • All 32 questions are equally divided among both the questions. Therefore, each section contains 16 questions.
  • In the LR section, questions from seating arrangement, blood relations, syllogisms, direction sense test, and other puzzles are included.
  • In the DI section, tables, graphs and charts, and caselets are included. Questions came in 3-4 sets and therefore, candidates should understand the data sets properly so as to complete the set accurately.
  • The CAT 2019 Syllabus does not have any predefined rules or any specific topics from which questions will be asked. Therefore, one must possess good fundamental knowledge of all the aforementioned broad topics to be able to swiftly and accurately work out problems related to respective section topics.

For Quant Section You can refer R.S agraval as basic level & Then Arun sharma which is standard book for CAT quant

For LRDI section-Practice makes You perfect in that section So Do practice as much as you can..You can Find puzzles From Free Sources like youtube and Facebook groups Or you can follow some Classes Material Or You can follow Arun sharma for LR also..

For VARC section- The base is reading..You have to read a lots of novel from Different Sections(Finance,Psycology,Philanthropy,History) This will make you familier with jargons..& You have to practice 4-5 RC daily(Source-any material)
