HELLO DHARMESH KUMAR
First thing you made sure is that you are dropping a year if you are sure of dropping for IIT then go ahead but keep in mind these time you have to work hard and forget about past and don't wait for tomorrow by just starting now .
1. Wait for IIT to annouce top 20 percentile if it is less than 83 percent and you are sure of working hard next year and cracking IIT then no need to give CBSE exam again but I would recommend you to give cbse improvement exam because its a gain-gain situation for you .
To let you understand gain gain situation let me tell you some important rules of cbse improvement exam
Rule of cbse improvement exam :
1. Even if you fail in CBSE improvement exam then also you will considered passes because you will be getting marks sheets of both the years , so whichever year you pass with better percent you may use that mark sheet and throw other out in garbage .
2. Your percent can never decrease even if you give cbse improvement exam because cbse says while calculating your percent you can use best marks of the two years marks sheet .
pattern will be same but due to the changing marking scheme in maths and English , there's a doubt “from where we will get the internal marks” or “shall we have to give the practical exam of maths and English too if you want to give the improvement exam in above subject”
The answer is “ NO ”
you don't have to give any internal exam for the above subject in improvement 2020.
But from where we get the extra 20 marks of internal. Will it be free or they will cut it??
In 2020 you will have to give just the normal paper ( talking in the case of maths and english) (because in rest subject, internal marks will be carried over as there is no change in their marking scheme) out of 80 marks and since you are the candidate of improvement exam and don't have any internal previous marks, your marks will be calculated out of 80 and the percentage will be taken over & that percentage will be the final marks of that subject out of 100.
Example:
If you will get 65 out of 80 then your final marks in your marksheet will be declared as (65/80)*100
That will be 81.
That will be the new pattern for the improvement exam 2020.
So let me clear that all the information above are provided by the principal of my COLLEGE. I enquired about this issue and I got this answer. I enquired many top CBSE faculty and I also got the same answer , so there is possibility that this can be the case. Since there is no any official declaration , there cannot be a confirm answer to this question. Stay updated!!
HOPE IT HELPS
ALL THE BEST
