Hello Harish
For admission in Mtech you have to qualify gate exam with good rank for the admission in IIT MADRAS.
you can give the gate exam in last year of your graduation or after completing graduation.
You can start your preparation from next year or from your BTech 3rd year.( Depending upon your college schedule). And be regualr in studies and do not ignore study and don't think that I will do it near exam.gate required only prwctipr and conceptual knowledge.
Good luck
IIT Madras gives admission to students on the basis of two criterias :
1. The candidate's should qualify the cut off criteria set by the college for GATE Exam.
2. If you're doing your bachelor's degree from IIT only, then you should have CGPA 8 or above. You can get direct admission through this.
So if you're from IIT only, then try to get 8 CGPA. And if not, then prepare well for the GATE exam
Hope this helps!
