Hello Aspirant,

NCC refers to the Indian military cadet corps that offer the qualities of discipline and patriotism among aspirants. The course is available for the students where they are introduced with military training in small arms or parades. With the help of different competitions and practical knowledge of the outside world, it helps make a candidate confident. Moreover, students can add NCC to their learning and aptitude activities. The NCC course is available in both junior as well as senior wings. The students of the 9th to 12th class can join NCC in junior wings, and students after 12th can participate in high wings.

The students applying for NCC must be citizens of India. The candidates applying for the NCC course should meet the medical standards prescribed by the college. After that, a physical examination is conducted, and the students have to clear that exam to get eligible for the course.

All the regular students of schools and colleges can join the NCC on a voluntary basis. The students have no liability for active military service. The minimum age limit to join NCC is 13 years and the maximum age limit is 26 years.

To apply for ncc:

  • If your desirous of being enrolled in the Senior Division shall apply to the Officer Commanding of the nearest NCC Unit; if your desirous of being enrolled in the Junior Division should apply to the Headmaster/Principal of the school in the prescribed form.
  • There is provision for students desirous of enrolling in NCC even from educational institutions that are not enlisted as NCC sub-units. In this provision of ‘Open Category’, the student needs to approach the Commanding Officer of the nearest NCC Unit for further guidance.

Hope this helps. All the best.
