Nutrition and dietetics is a scientific subject concerned with fitness, health, and eating healthily. People who are interested in this branch of medicine may study it in order to pursue a satisfying career as a nutritionist or dietician. It is available as a bachelor's and master's degree. Dietetics is an interdisciplinary field of study. It is typically taught with a number of health and medicine-related disciplines. In a Dietician programme, the fundamental curriculum is typically taught in the first year, with the next two to three years devoted to more advanced topics.

To work as a competent dietitian, you must be a Registered Dietician (RD). Typically, a post-graduate level dietetic education is required, as is some nutritional experience in hospitals. The Indian Dietetic Association awards RD certification in India.
