JOINT ENTRANCE EXAM MAINS ( JEE MAINS ) - is one of the most reputed exam. By the jee mains you can take admission in the India's prestigious nits, iiits or gftis and other state engineering colleges ( which accepts jee mains score ).
Jee mains is conducted by NTA, and this year it will be total of 300 marks.
Also it has a percentile system, which came in picture since 2019, when the NTA takeover the cbse.
Generally the pattern of jee mains ia fixed but due to covid 19, there are some changes in the pattern of jee mains 2021 exam :-
As per latest JEE Main 2021 exam pattern, the paper 1 will have a total of 90 questions, 25 each from from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. And you have to attempt only 75 questions.
Each subject will have 20 MCQs ( for correct response you will be rewarded + 4 marks and for each incorrect response you will get -1) and 10 numerical questions. 5 out of 10 numerical questions are optional. Means, you can solve any 5 questions out of 10.
Numerical questions will don't have negative marking.
JEE Main 2021 for paper 1 (B.Tech) will be conducted for 300 marks, while paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan) will be conducted separately for 400 marks each.
And this year, JEE Main 2021 will be held in 13 regional languges
After jee mains, jee advanced is held and you can give that exam only after clearing the cutoff of jee mains. And if your rank is good then you can take admission in nits or gftis or iiits, etc. And also note that for giving jee advanced or taking admision in nits ot iiits or gftis ot iits, your class 12th aggregate must be atleast 75%.

JEE-Main is a national level engineering entrance examination required for admission to different NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/GFTIs or JEE-Advance for IITs for B.Tech course. JEE-Main is conducted by National Testing Agency and JEE-Advance is conducted by different IITs every year and this year JEE-Advance is going to be conducted by IIT Kharagpur.
On December 16th 2020 the application process for JEE-Main 2021 February attempt has been started by National Testing Agency (NTA) which is the conducting authority for JEE-Main 2021. You can apply for JEE-Main from the official portal of JEE-Main which is given below :-

Note that this application process will continues till January 16th 2021 and last date for payment of application fee is January 17th 2021 after which neither application nor application fee will be accepted and then after the correction window will be opened for the applicants from January 19th to January 21st 2021. Admit cards will be available for download from second week of February 2021 and the examination will be conducted from February 23rd to February 26th 2021 in two shifts per day, for February attempt.
A candidate will also have option to apply for one Session or more than one Session (February/ March /April /May 2021) together and pay exam fee accordingly. In other words, if a candidate wishes to apply only for one Session, he / she has to pay Examination Fee only for that Session during the current application period and will have opportunity to apply again for the March/ April / May Sessions.

Some insights of JEE-Main 2021 :-
> To qualify for JEE Mains, there is no minimum aggregate percentage criteria but yes if you want to take admission into NITs, IIITs or CFTIs then you should score a minimum aggregate of 75% in your class 12th if you belongs to General/Unreserved category and 65% if you belongs to any of the reserved category.
> Also from this year according to New Education Policy the JEE-Main examination will be conducted in English, Hindi and other regional languages such as Bengali, Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Odia and Malayalam.
> In JEE-Main 2021 there will be total 90 question out of which you have to attempt only 75 (25 from each section) and there will be two sections for each subject, Section-A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)(20 compulsory questions) and Section-B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value (10 numerical based questions out of which only 5 are compulsory to be attempted).
> In Section B, candidates have to attempt any five questions out of 10. There will be no negative marking for Section B.
> All question will be of 4 marks and in MCQs there will be negative marking of (-1) on incorrect attempt.

There are 2 exams for this. One is JEE Mains and the other one is JEE Advanced. Both are engineering entrance exams. First the JEE Mains exam is conducted.
And after that, the candidates who clear JEE Mains are eligible to give the JEE Advance exam. JEE Mains score is to take admission into NIT's, IIIT's, GFTI's and other state engineering colleges.
JEE Advance exam is for taking admission into IIT's. The higher your score, the better college you will get.
JEE Mains exam consists of 3 subjects, Physics , Chemistry and Maths. The paper is of 300 marks, and is completed in 1 slot of 3 hours. While, the JEE Advance exam consists of Physics, Chemistry and maths. But it gets completed in 2 slots.
