Hello there,
To pursue an integrated M.Tech after a diploma, especially with the goal of getting into IITs through JEE Mains and Advanced, here's what you should consider:
1. Eligibility for JEE Mains and Advanced after a Diploma:
JEE Mains: Diploma holders are not eligible for direct admission to NITs/IITs for undergraduate courses (like B.Tech or integrated M.Tech) via JEE Mains. However, diploma holders can write the exam for qualifying in JEE Advanced, but not for direct entry to undergraduate programs.
JEE Advanced: You may be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced if you first clear JEE Mains. However, diploma holders cannot directly apply to undergraduate programs at IITs even after qualifying for JEE Advanced. The diploma may not be considered equivalent to 12th grade by the IIT system for undergraduate admissions.
2. Alternate Pathways to IITs for Integrated M.Tech:
Lateral Entry Programs: Some institutes offer lateral entry to diploma holders into 2nd year B.Tech courses, but IITs do not typically have lateral entry schemes.
Other Institutes: You might consider other premier institutes that offer integrated programs, or lateral entry for diploma holders.
3. Options Beyond IITs:
You can pursue lateral entry to B.Tech courses in other reputed engineering institutes. After completing B.Tech, you can aim for GATE to get into IITs for M.Tech.
Some state universities or private universities may offer integrated M.Tech programs or lateral entry schemes that accept diploma holders.
Summary:
-Direct entry to IITs via JEE after a diploma isn't typically an option.
- You could aim to finish a B.Tech at a good institute via lateral entry and then pursue an M.Tech at IITs through GATE.
Hope this information helps. Good Luck!
Hello!!
Pursuing an integrated M.Tech (dual degree) after completing a diploma opens up a whole different track through the IITs, rather than for a standard bachelor's degree. Here are the main steps and points.
- Eligibility and Elongations: Diploma students are not eligible for admission into the IITs or NITs institutes directly under JEE Main or JEE Advanced. The entrance exams are mainly designed for those qualified with 10+2 or Class 12. So, diploma students do not get chances for entrance exams like JEE Main or JEE Advanced just after completion of their diploma course.
Alternative Entrance Exams:
- Lateral entry for B.Tech: The Institutes will accept lateral entry for Diploma holders entering B Tech courses directly to the 2nd year of an engineering degree. This is also done with the state universities and other technical institutions and the IITs usually do not feature in this agreement.
- GATE Preparation: After your diploma course, you can further pursue your education by seeking admission in any recognized institution for a B. Tech or equivalent degree followed by taking GATE. A good score in GATE will get you opportunities to take M. Tech courses at an IIT or follow the dual degree courses.
Consider an Integrated B.Tech/M.Tech Program: If you are an IIT aspirant, still consider completing your B.Tech from some other recognized institution, and you can look for an integrated M.Tech from the IITs a bit later through the GATE. But lateral entry is definitely not available from diploma to IITs.
Holding a diploma calls for an alternative in entering IITs, either through M.Tech or the dual degree. The JEE route is not a direct way to enter into IITs. Alternatively, an individual can enter IITs through entry into B.Tech and then to GATE.
Thankyou!
Hello Shremi!
First of all make it clear that you cannot directly go JEE ADVANCED after diploma, first you will need to qualify JEE MAINS exam in order to give JEE ADVANCED exam.
You need to appear for JEE ADVANCED to target IITs, but there's no lateral entry provision. You'll need to start from the first year of a B.Tech program, even if you have a diploma.
WAY TO IIT FOR DIPLOMA HOLDER-
1. Qualify JEE MAINS exam in order to appear for JEE ADVANCED. (You can give JEE Mains as a diploma holder, but the score will only serve as a qualifying exam for JEE Advanced.)
2. Admission to IIT - If you secure a good rank in JEE ADVANCED exam you will be able to apply to IITs but you will be admitted as first year student.
3. M.TECH - a.) At some IITs dual degree (B.Tech + M.tech) of 5 years is available. b.) You can do M.tech after completing your B.tech.
In case you want to pursue M.tech just after your diploma then you can go for lateral entries in some private colleges as they offer the students to take admission from 2nd year.
Overall whatever you want to do just go for it and give 100 percent to it. We wish you all the best.
IITs offer dual degree programs, such as the B.Tech./M.Tech. program. Students are admitted to these programs through JEE and are expected to complete the program in five years.
IIT dont have lateral entry scheme so why to waste your time instead Complete your diploma and then go for GATE entrance exam.Try to achieve a good rank under 500. It is possible, given your effort, hard work and sincerity. Then, you stand a great chance to get into IIT.
This way a diploma holder can successfully enter IIT and get out with flying colours.
All the best.
