Make a proper timetable so that you can complete your syllabus in a timely manner.
Start reading newspaper. It will really help you.
Take syllabus and previous year papers of this exam and analyze them. Find out what is the nature of the exam, what kind of questions UPSC ask and what is the level of toughness. You will get a clear picture that will help you in the long term. This analysis will help you in developing an approach to reading books from this exam point of view.

It's really a good decision that you are going to prepare for civil services early.

For this you should purchase the relevant books of your stream go through them and I suggest you to join test series online or offline. It will help you in evaluating yourself.

In last year of your graduation if possible you should join any good coaching institute.
