Firstly as you are preparing for SSC then obviously you have targeted SSC CGL and other exams. Now the basic eligibility for this exam is a graduation in any subject from any recognized university/board.
Thus it doesn't matter what field you choose, no field will give you extra advantage rather than your preparation. So it is always wise to choose the subject you like and enthusiast for. This will reduce your boredom while studying your subject and you will be able to focus more on SSC studies without any stress.
Also its highly recommended that you should go for General course and not for Honors course as Honors courses demands more time on the subject.

The eligibility criteria for appearing in SSC CGL is simply passed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, however there is exception for three posts as mentioned below-
Now, the question comes if you aim to apply for any of the three posts aforementioned then accordingly you have to choose your field of graduation, for the rest of the posts in SSC CGL there is no such restriction of having any specific stream or subject combinations for that matter.
