i want to prepare for UPSC and want to take public administration as optional.So is it good to do BA politics instead of public ad so that i have better scope ahead?Or should i do only simple BA rather than Honours?

See, there is no such restriction of belonging to specific stream when it comes to appearing for UPSC, candidates who have passed or appearing graduation from any stream from a recognized university are eligible to apply, the only difference between simply BA or BA Hons is the latter is specialization course and involves in-depth study, so if you want to have back up plan for MA or BEd in future keeping teaching as a career in mind then you can opt for BA Hons, other than this graduation in any disciplines such as political science, public administration, sociology, economics, geography helps as there is considerable overlap with the syllabus of gs and optional here.
